Did you know the State of New Mexico does not have a sustainable funding source for land stewardship and conservation? Right now, legislators are meeting in Santa Fe to make important decisions on our state budget. New Mexico needs long-term funding to maintain our beautiful landscapes, protect our traditional land uses, and expand our outdoor recreation economy. That’s why a broad coalition of organizations and constituents from across New Mexico have come together to provide a funding solution. It’s called the Land of Enchantment GO Bond, and it would allocate $50 million to:

✅Protect water sources
✅Improve soil health
✅Honor our traditional land uses
✅Reduce wildfire risk
✅Improve wildlife habitat
✅Expand hunting and fishing
✅Support outdoor recreation

The Land of Enchantment GO Bond would not raise additional taxes on New Mexicans, and would be paid for by existing property taxes through a general obligation bond. If approved by the legislature, a proposal will appear on a statewide ballot, and our broad coalition of supporters stand ready to educate and persuade voters to approve it in the upcoming 2022 election.

But first, it must pass the legislature. Please contact your legislators by filling out the form below and let them know you SUPPORT the Land of Enchantment Bond for conservation and want to see it ADDED to the current GO Bond package. Please personalize your message to your liking!
